Udawatte Kelle Sanctuary, Dunumadalawa Forest reserve and Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya are good places for birds including a few endemics such as Layard's Parakeets, Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, Yellow fronted Barbet, Brown capped Babbler, White rumped Shama, Tickell's Blue Flycatcher etc.
